Just A Bit Ago

Just a bit ago there was a sonogram of a little girl holding onto her umbilical cord and growing strong.  Hold on Baby! Hold on!

Just last week she was a toddler waking up from her nap with sweet baby bed head.
Just the day before yesterday she was snuggling on my lap. Post nap. Nearly six years old. All legs and arms. Trying to get comfy. Succeeding as long as I held onto her foot so it didn't slip off of my knee.
I am struck with the tenderness of the moments. Their fleeting seconds of complete peace.
Today. Today she is still nearly six, and enthralled with big girl life. Soccer. Coffee at Starbucks with her mama. Going hunting with her daddy. Dance class. A performance at halftime with the ‘big high school girls’.

Again I am struck with the sweetness of the moments. Aware that I will look back with such affection and happiness. Today  my heart is sweetly broken yet completely happy.
Where will you grow next my first and beloved grandchild?

Lavender Festival 2010

This is how it started.

This is how it ended.

These are the pics of the in between.

It was a wonderful day in the lavender fields.  Jim & Sheri opened their lovely Hermiston farm to the public as a fundraiser for Agape House & the event was a complete success.

So many volunteers working REALLY hard, live music playing, happy folk strolling, local artists creating, wineries offering tastes, light breeze blowing, warm sun shining, bees buzzing, Jordawn bopping around keeping it all flowing and everyone happy.  I am honored to have vended my wares in this perfect environment! Who could ask for more?

My family is the true delight of my life. Here I am with grand #1 snuggled close. Grand #2 is hanging out behind us to the right, chilling, listening to music.

My new fave. Robin's Egg Blue, with a twist.

Jordawn, the Energizer Bunny.

Farmers Market Time

It's that time of year. Summer really wants to show up, but spring just won't let go yet. What HAS shown up in our little corner of Oregon is fresh local produce! This was my haul last Saturday from Hermiston's Own Saturday Market.

Don't you just love that so many of our little burgs are hosting their own farmers markets? Hermiston on Saturday morning. Umatilla on Thursday afternoon / evening. Pendleton Friday evening. Each market has it's own personality & I love visiting them all.

Get out there folks! Meet the farmers who labor so we can eat. Support them face to face. See you at the markets.

At My Sister's House

Common objects become beautiful.

Her artist's eye elevates them.

What's important remains what's important.

Calm words are spoken in the woods.
"There are no more bugs. You will be alright."
There was only one.
And I was.

For those of you who can't make it to the big city and might be crying because you didn't get your message at How Bazaar, just give me a holler. I'll get one to you. $5. What a deal!
